Crashing the Gate

UPDATE: 4:45PM WEDNESDAY -

ALL 250 COPIES OF CRASHING THE GATE THAT WE NEED FOR OUR ACTION HAVE BEEN DONATED!

I am breaking the links below to prevent further sales. Thank you all so, so much for your rapid response and your support.

--Matt & Jay

There are some commenters over at Kos who are confused by the ordering process. Just follow the instructions. Every book marked Instore pickup WILL go to the project. We're sorry this is cumbersome, but we did want to involve a local indy bookstore. Feel free to email me with questions. Thanks!!

Here are the instructions from Politics & Prose for donating a book to the CtG
project:

Politics & Prose will be offering all participants in the FDL-Crashing the Gate action 37% off the retail price of the book. All participants should select the "Instore Pick-Up" option and then enter their credit card information. All sales are processed by our bookstore staff -- so the discount will be given when they ring up the sale, and will therefore not be reflected on the online total but will be reflected on your charged total when you receive your bill. Your cost will be about 16 dollars, not the 25 dollars that shows up on the ordering page.

And here's the link (link removed upon success!).

To volunteer to deliver books to Capitol Hill, send email to jay@ackroyd.org or send an instant message to the AIM screenname MattFreeTibet.

I'm going to deliver a copy to Senatory Inouye and Senatory Akaka as well as Congressman Case. I'll also give one as a gift to Congressman Abercrombie but his vote record assures me that to him, this book will be singing to the "choir".

In fact, while I'm at it I'm going to deliver a copy to Brickwood Galuteria who heads the Democratic State Party here. He could use a reminder of what we as Democrats are about.

Did I just create a new Colbert-style word by accident?

Senatory: Adjective Describing a windbag speaker who bloviates endlessly, often as a means of covering their inability to act decisively!

There he goes... Acting all Senatory again!

Harry Mitchell, who is attempting to unseat J.D. Hayworth in Arizona, has a copy already. I know because I tried to give him one, and he told me how he met Kos at a signing and got a book there.

Mitchell isn't a congressman (yet), but hopefully he will be soon. Actually, wouldn't it be a good idea to get these books not only into the hands of current congressmen, but into the hands of those who we want to win this fall?

I'm in Dan Boren's district. It'd be my pleasure to deliver a copy to his Claremore, OK, office personally.

Sean,

I've already delivered a copy to my rep's local office. There's no reason not to do both.
